How to Reset a Samsung Refrigerator Water Filter

After replacing the water filter, you must reset the filter indicator so the refrigerator can accurately track filter life and water quality.

• After installing a new water filter

• When the filter light turns red

• If water flow improves after replacement

1. Locate the “Filter Reset” or “Reset” button on the control panel

2. Press and hold the button for 3–5 seconds

3. Release when:

   • The red light turns green or blue

   • Or the filter icon disappears

✅ Reset is complete.

(Common on Samsung French-door models)

1. Press and hold “Ice Type / Water”

2. Hold for 3–5 seconds

3. The filter indicator will reset automatically

• Press Menu

• Navigate to Filter Reset

• Select Reset

• Confirm if prompted

• 🔵 Blue / Green – Filter is good

• 🟡 Yellow – Filter life is running low

• 🔴 Red – Replace filter immediately

If the Reset Doesn’t Work

• Make sure the filter is properly installed

• Hold the reset button for up to 10 seconds

• Unplug the refrigerator for 1 minute, then try again

• Check your model number (inside fridge wall or door)

✔ Replace the filter every 6 months
✔ Run 2–3 gallons of water after installing a new filter
✔ Use genuine Samsung filters for compatibility
